About the Author
Dennis Flaherty is a professional photographer based in Bishop, California. He began his photography career in 1983. His work has been widely published in calendars, books, magazines including Audubon, National Geographic, Backpacker, Outdoor Photographer, and Sierra.
Mark Schlenz first discovered his interests in mountaineering, writing, and environmental literature while living in the Eastern Sierra in the 1970s. He later taught high school English Literature at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1994 with a dissertation on Eastern California writer Mary Austin. He taught literature and writing for Environmental Studies at UCSB.

Beautiful book!

I was fortunate to go camping on a Geology Field Trip for 5-days in the Mono Lake region recently and the area is breath-taking! This book captures the beauty and the colors beautifully! This is my favorite book I've seen of the area, and trust me, I've looked at a lot of them. The photos are very high quality and the author captures all the seasons of Mono Lake and the surrounding area, including Panum Crater (which is a cool place to go)! I went camping in the fall and this book captures the beautiful fall colors of the Aspen leaves! It's a great book to have around!

Lovely, lush photos of an extraordinary place in this good-quality softcover book. I appreciate that the photos are natural, and not Photoshopped. Dennis Marshall has captured the poetic essence of Mono Lake.
